As a charity the SS Explorer Preservation Society relies totally upon all of you, our amazing volunteers. We would not be where we are today if it were not for all the work put in over so many years by our group of volunteers. That includes those who volunteer off the ship as well, work which is just as important as carrying out repairs and restoration onboard.
Volunteer week is normally a week of events celebrating the work volunteers do across the whole of the 3rd sector. However this year is a different as the focus is more on thanking those volunteers in the front line of the current crisis and there are no events taking place this year.
So thank you to our volunteers for following lockdown, you have made a difference in a different way over these last few months. Remember to continue to follow the lockdown rules as we want you all to stay safe during this time.
Also thank you to all those volunteers on the front line helping those in need during this crisis.
Let’s look forward to next years Volunteers week when we can properly celebrate the work all our volunteers do.
Tell us your SS Explorer volunteer stories in the comments section below, we’d love to hear why you enjoy volunteering with us.
